Salmon
and trout fishing on The Lakes of
Killarney, the river Flesk and the
river Laune. Fishing is free on all
The Killarney lakes (except Kilbrean)
permits are necessary for fishing
in the rivers. A licence is required
for salmon fishing. Sea angling is
available in Dingle, Cahirciveen,
Valentia and a number of other centres
within easy reach of Killarney. Boat,
Gillie, and equipment available by
arrangement from adjacent Lake Shore.
Cycling
Cycling
is an excellent way to explore and
enjoy the splendour of the many beauty
spots within The Killarney Valley.
The National Park, Ross Castle, Muckross
House and Gardens to name but a few.
A limited number of bicycles are available
free of charge from reception.
Hill walking
There
are numerous mountain walks within
easy reach of the hotel which are
suitable or climbing and hill walking.
Before you attenpt to take on Carrauntouhill,
Torc Mountain or Mangerton, think
safety, inform somebody of your intended
route and estimated time of return,
not forgetting to report back on your
return.
Boating
Boat
trips to Innisfallen Island, O'Sullivans
Cascade or Ross Castle are available
by arrangement at short notice from
adjacent Jetty.
Row boats are available for hire,
with or without a boatman at muckross
boathouse or at Ross Castle. There
are numerous trips available. All
weather cruises depart Ross Castle
regularly on lake tours.
